Vol. 01 | ARRIVAL : 마중
Majung (마중) : The Greeting

— A pure Korean word meaning to step outside and warmly welcome someone who is arriving.

I hesitated for a long time over what first words to offer those who find their way to this space, before finally settling on the word ‘Majung.’ Whether you stumbled upon this corner searching for a quiet tool, or simply turned the page out of fleeting curiosity, I believe that across our screens, we share an innate fondness for the slow warmth that only fingertips can touch. A simple, conventional “welcome” felt too distant and thin; I wanted to step a little further out the door, meet you halfway, and genuinely ask how you are doing.

#2024

Working at the very center of big tech where speed and innovation race forward every day, I find myself increasingly convinced that what truly sustains a life is the deliberate time we carve out with our own hands. In a world where efficiency has become the highest virtue, there is a quiet grace in setting the smartphone aside, sitting before a clean, pared-back desk, and breathing at a slower pace. Feeling the crisp friction beneath my fingers rather than the glow of a screen, opening a tiny world held just for myself—that has always been my most tender analog comfort.

#my most private ritual space

My desk has silently held this philosophy for me; it is the space I treasure most in a room filled with my own tastes. While I cannot transform an entire home into a sanctuary, this compact surface remains my most private ritual salon—a place where the noise of the world is gently blocked out.

To anyone stepping in here, tired from the relentless pace of the outside world, I hope this quiet warmth touches you softly. May you receive the gift of a few quiet moments, returning wholly to yourself.
